Performance

Built for hunters running heavy loads in shallow water.

The SBX Series was designed for hunters who run heavy gear, dogs, and full hunting setups through marsh, grass, and flooded timber. These boats prioritize stability, carrying capacity, and dependable control in demanding environments.

  • Wide, stable hull design built for heavy hunting loads
  • Strong lift in shallow water for marsh and timber environments
  • Predictable handling when carrying gear, dogs, and passengers
  • Designed to match Pro-Drive surface drive motors

Innovation

Built from decades of running shallow water

Every SBX boat reflects decades of time spent running marsh, timber, and shallow backwaters.

Self-Bailing Cockpit Design

Elevated cockpit floor allows rain or waves to drain naturally through rear scuppers.

Flush Floor Layout

Wall-to-wall welded floor eliminates raised tubing and creates more usable cockpit space.

Hunting-Ready Stability

Wide hull profile keeps the boat balanced when carrying gear, dogs, and passengers.

FAQs

Common questions about the SBX Series

The SBX can be upgraded with the TD Edition, which incorporates additional structural and performance enhancements from ProDrive’s TD platform.

This option is available on most SBX models, though certain larger configurations require dual engines and may not support the TD upgrade.

The SBX Series is available in multiple lengths and widths to match different hunting and utility needs, including:

  • Lengths from 17’ to 22’
  • Bottom widths from 48” up to 72”
  • Wider beam options for added stability

Each configuration affects weight, handling, and load capacity, so most customers choose based on how and where they plan to run.

SBX boats are built using marine-grade 5086 aluminum with a reinforced internal structure that includes:

  • Full-length welded ribs
  • Cross-bracing every 10 inches
  • Closed-cell foam (non-water absorbing)
  • A fully welded and pressure-tested subfloor

This construction delivers a quiet, smooth ride while providing strength that goes beyond typical factory-built aluminum hulls.

The SBX’s elevated floor sits above the natural waterline and includes rear scupper outlets that allow water from rain, splash, or waves to drain out automatically.

Even in heavy rain or after taking on water, the system continuously clears the cockpit—so you spend less time worrying about water and more time running your boat.

The SBX Series is the only aluminum hull of its kind built with a fully self-bailing cockpit, meaning water that enters the boat naturally drains out—even when sitting still.

It also features a fully welded, sealed, and pressure-tested floor system, giving you a safer, drier ride in rough or unpredictable water conditions.

Customer Voices

Real stories from hunters, guides, and weekend warriors who trust ProDrive.

I couldn’t be more impressed with my 2022 1854 TDX ProDrive mud boat. What really sets this boat apart is its versatility. It powers through thick mud and shallow water without hesitation, yet it handles deep lakes and river systems just as confidently. Whether I’m navigating tight backwater areas or running across open water, it performs flawlessly. The reliability and performance give me total confidence every time I launch.

Greg McLarnan

Florida

I’ve owned ProDrive boats for about 10 years now, and I honestly don’t see myself ever needing another brand. ProDrives are built like tanks. Solid construction, heavy-duty aluminum, dependable performance — they’re made to handle real use.

If getting into remote places to fish that others can’t very easily then Pro Drive is your machine. Don’t forget the winch etc. in case you get a little too frisky on the curves.  Home base is Jefferson, South Dakota. Fishing on Eagle lake and surrounding lakes Ontario Canada. Ontario is the land of 400,000 lakes.

Tim Jones

Group of six men wearing camouflage and outdoor clothing riding on a motorboat in a marshy waterway under a partly cloudy sky.
As a mechanical engineer, I can see the intervention that Prodrive surface drive motors have brought to duck hunters who transit through rough and shallow water marshes. Combining a Prodrive motor with a custom Prodrive hull built for a Prodrive motor makes for a lifetime boat that can be passed down through the generations.

Keith Richardson

Lafayette, Louisiana

Man wearing a cap sitting in a small motorboat navigating shallow, muddy water through a forested area.
Downright dependable! My Pro-Drive mud boat and motor has been getting me through all the tough areas. From mud to marsh and deep into the swamps. No matter if I've loaded it down for a hunt or set it up for bowfishing, this rig has been ready to carry me into any season all year round since 2020.

Donavon Gregoire

St. Amant, Louisiana

A hunting boat with camouflage patterns holding eight dead ducks lined up on its rear platform near a calm body of water.
I have owned a Pro-Drive since 2015. I used it hunting, fishing, froggin you name it. It has been a reliable boat and motor. Couldn't asked for a better setup.

Chris Villnuve

St. Amant, Louisiana

Man in fishing gear holding a container full of crawfish on a boat in a swampy, green water area with fish in a black container beside him.
I run the spillway every year for crawfish, and this motor has pulled me through everything Louisiana can throw at it: mud, lilies, low water, rough water, and long days. No matter what I’m doing, it fires up, pushes hard, and gets me where I need to go.

Trevor Hebert

Gonzales, Louisiana

In 2020 I became part of the Pro-Drive family. 6 years of hard work and extreme memories. From the marsh duck hunting, to the swamps frogging, or just a family day on the water, Pro-Drive will get you in and out without hesitation. It has been an amazing rig!!
