Performance

Built for operators who want speed and control.

The X-Series was designed to let a surface drive motor perform the way it should. After testing multiple hull designs, we found that flat-bottom, hard-chine boats consistently ran higher, drafted less water, and carried loads better than round or semi-V hulls.

  • Flat-bottom performance hull built for speed and shallow draft
  • Triple taper chine design for tighter turns and better control
  • Runs higher on plane to reduce draft in shallow water
  • Balanced for Pro-Drive motors to maximize lift and handling

Innovation

Built from decades of running shallow water

The X-Series hull combines proven shallow-water design with reinforced construction and practical features that hunters rely on every season.

Triple Taper Chine Design

Our triple taper chine begins at the bow and gradually fades toward the rake, providing tighter cornering without sacrificing the lift and speed of a flat-bottom hull.

Flush Floor Layout

A fully welded flush floor runs wall-to-wall across the cockpit, eliminating raised tubing and giving you more usable space when loading gear, handling dogs, or moving through the boat.

Reinforced Structural Build

Constructed from 5086 marine-grade aluminum with full-length welded ribs and reinforced bracing every 10 inches, creating a hull built to handle real hunting conditions year after year.

FAQs

Common questions about the X-Series surface drive motor

X-Series boats are built with marine-grade 5086 aluminum and a reinforced internal structure that includes:

  • Full-length welded ribs
  • Cross-bracing every 10 inches
  • Fully flush, wall-to-wall floor (no raised obstructions)

This construction delivers long-term durability while maintaining a clean, open layout for usability in the field.

The X-Series is specifically engineered to maximize surface drive motor performance.

Unlike many boats that become too heavy or unstable, the X-Series maintains:

  • Proper weight distribution
  • Stability under load
  • Efficient power transfer

This ensures the boat isn’t underpowered and performs as intended in shallow water environments.

Traditional hard chine boats can slide at higher speeds—but the X-Series solves this with a triple taper chine design.

This design starts at the bow and gradually transitions toward the rear, creating a balance between:

  • Stability in turns
  • Smooth handling
  • Predictable control at speed

The result is a hull that keeps the performance benefits of a hard chine without the common drawbacks.

Through extensive testing, ProDrive found that flat bottom, hard chine designs run higher and draft less water than round or semi-V hulls.

This design also delivers:

  • Better speed
  • Increased load capacity
  • Tighter turning
  • Improved control at idle (especially in timber or tight marsh areas)

The X-Series is built for maximum shallow water performance, combining speed, handling, and load-carrying capability. It’s ideal for operators who want a responsive, efficient boat that runs higher, drafts less water, and performs consistently across tough conditions.

Customer Voices

Real stories from hunters, guides, and weekend warriors who trust ProDrive.

I couldn’t be more impressed with my 2022 1854 TDX ProDrive mud boat. What really sets this boat apart is its versatility. It powers through thick mud and shallow water without hesitation, yet it handles deep lakes and river systems just as confidently. Whether I’m navigating tight backwater areas or running across open water, it performs flawlessly. The reliability and performance give me total confidence every time I launch.

I’ve owned ProDrive boats for about 10 years now, and I honestly don’t see myself ever needing another brand. ProDrives are built like tanks. Solid construction, heavy-duty aluminum, dependable performance — they’re made to handle real use.

If getting into remote places to fish that others can’t very easily then Pro Drive is your machine. Don’t forget the winch etc. in case you get a little too frisky on the curves.  Home base is Jefferson, South Dakota. Fishing on Eagle lake and surrounding lakes Ontario Canada. Ontario is the land of 400,000 lakes.

As a mechanical engineer, I can see the intervention that Prodrive surface drive motors have brought to duck hunters who transit through rough and shallow water marshes. Combining a Prodrive motor with a custom Prodrive hull built for a Prodrive motor makes for a lifetime boat that can be passed down through the generations.

Downright dependable! My Pro-Drive mud boat and motor has been getting me through all the tough areas. From mud to marsh and deep into the swamps. No matter if I've loaded it down for a hunt or set it up for bowfishing, this rig has been ready to carry me into any season all year round since 2020.

I have owned a Pro-Drive since 2015. I used it hunting, fishing, froggin you name it. It has been a reliable boat and motor. Couldn't asked for a better setup.

I run the spillway every year for crawfish, and this motor has pulled me through everything Louisiana can throw at it: mud, lilies, low water, rough water, and long days. No matter what I’m doing, it fires up, pushes hard, and gets me where I need to go.

Trevor Hebert

Gonzales, Louisiana

In 2020 I became part of the Pro-Drive family. 6 years of hard work and extreme memories. From the marsh duck hunting, to the swamps frogging, or just a family day on the water, Pro-Drive will get you in and out without hesitation. It has been an amazing rig!!
